Since 1965 the European Documentation Centre (EDC) of the University of Mannheim is part of a worldwide information network, which has been set up in the early 1960s by the European Commission. It is now one out of 51 other European Documentation Centres in Germany. The purpose of the network is to support study, teaching and research on European integration and to make EU information available to the public.
