Extended opening of the subject libraries

The subject libraries A3, A5, Schloss Ehrenhof and Schloss Schneckenhof are open to all user groups. University members can book their seat, but may also come to the library for spontaneous visits. Please pay attention to the display of available seats. A seat booking is mandatory for members of cooperating institutions and users with a library card.

The Details

  • Opening hours: Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. except on holidays
  • The Schloss Ehrenhof Library is only accessible via the east entrance.
  • For members of Mannheim University there is a contingent of seats available for spontaneous library visits. Please pay attention to the display of available seats. Seat booking is possible.
  • For users who are not a member of Mannheim University access is only possible after an online seat booking. The seat booking will be checked at the entrance.
  • Entering and leaving the library is recorded with the ecUM or the UB chip card for the purpose of contact tracing in case of a corona infection. Please have your card ready.
  • A break of up to one hour is possible, in case of longer absence your place will be released.
  • The seats released for use are clearly marked.
  • Within the library it is mandatory to wear a mouth and nose protection in circulation areas (corridors, staircases, printers, copiers, scanners) and in communal rooms (e.g. washrooms).
  • At the workstations you can take off the mask as long as the minimum distance is observed.
  • The minimum distance of 1.50 meters must be maintained at all times and is checked by library staff and security staff.
  • The lockers are not released for use.
  • The use of the printers, copiers, scanners and PCs is possible with restrictions. We ask you to clean the library equipment before use. Cleaning products are available on site.
  • Working in groups is not permitted, group study rooms are open for individual use.
  • Persons who have had contact with a person infected with the corona virus in the last 14 days or who show symptoms of a respiratory tract infection or increased temperature are not allowed to enter.

Opening of the InfoCenter

The InfoCenter, the central infopoint in Schloss Schneckenhof, is again offering its services on site. University members and external visitors with or without ecUM can visit the InfoCenter of the University Library by prior appointment or spontaneously for a consultation.

  • Please expect some waiting time when visiting the InfoCenter.
