Since 1965 the European Documentation Centre (EDC) of the University of Mannheim is part of a worldwide information network, which has been set up in the early 1960s by the European Commission. Today there are more than 350 European Documentation Centres in the EU Member States. The purpose of the network is the support of academic study and research on European integration. Germany’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union|
From 1 July until December 2020, Germany will take over the Presidency of the Council of the EU. Together with Portugal and Slovenia they will form the next "Trio Presidency" for the next 18 months (joint programme).
European Universities: transnational alliances of higher education institutions|
On 9th July the list of "European Universities" was extended. Now 165 institutions in 31 university alliances will receive financial support for closer cooperation. The University of Mannheim is involved with 6 other European universities in the alliance "engage.eu" (The European University engaged in societal change).
New pilot to develop skills and education across Europe|
The European Investment Fund (EIF) and European Commission are launching a new pilot guarantee facility to improve access to finance for individuals (students and learners) and organisations looking to invest in skills and education.
