Since 1965 the European Documentation Centre (EDC) of the University of Mannheim is part of a worldwide information network, which has been set up in the early 1960s by the European Commission. Today there are more than 350 European Documentation Centres in the EU Member States. The purpose of the network is the support of academic study and research on European integration. The current Troika Presidencies (the Austrian, Estonian and Bulgarian governments) have jointly prepared the 18-month programme with the strategic agenda until 31 December 2018. Prime Minister Boyko Borisov presented the priorities of the Bulgarian Presidency before the European Parliament.
