European Documentation Centre (EDC)

Since 1965 the European Documentation Centre (EDC) of the University of Mannheim is part of a worldwide information network, which has been set up in the early 1960s by the European Commission. Today there are more than 350 European Documentation Centres in the EU Member States. The purpose of the network is the support of academic study and research on European integration.   • 2022 - European Year of Youth

    The European Commission will coordinate a series of activities throughout the Year in close contact with the European Parliament, Member States, regional and local authorities, youth organisations and young people.

  • 20 years of euro: Redesign of euro banknotes by 2024

    The European Central Bank (ECB) plans to redesign euro banknotes, working with European citizens in a process that is expected to lead to a final decision in 2024. There are to be new, different themes covered on the banknotes.

  • The EIT Initiative for higher education institutions

    The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) has published the second call for proposals to support 40 higher education networks in promoting innovation. The deadline for submitting proposals is 28 February 2022.

  • Call for public engagement in research

    The EU Research Council is awarding this prize for the second time. In the categories "Involve - citizen science", "Inspire - outreach" and "Influence - media and policy", the deadline for submissions is 3 February 2022. The winners will be announced during the EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF) in July 2022.
