Library card for non-university members
Library card for students or staff members of the University of Heidelberg, the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University Mannheim, the University of Applied Sciences Mannheim, the University of Applied Sciences Ludwigshafen and other cooperating institutions
As a member of the University of Mannheim with your ecUM and your access information, you can
- visit the subject libraries
- borrow items at the Central Lending Library Schloss Westflügel
- print, copy and scan
- order items via the interlibrary loan service
- access licensed electronic resources, by using the VPN client also remotely
- campus-wide Internet access
- use the lockers
ecUM from 1 July 2025 without photo
Starting on 1 July 2025, the ecUM will have a new design. There will no longer be a photo on the front of the card. The photo will be replaced by a QR code. This will affect all cards issued after 1 July 2025. Existing cards can still be used.
Replacement in case of loss or damage
If your ecUM is lost or defective, you can apply for a new ecUM via the student portal. Log in with your university ID and password. The fee for a replacement card is EUR 15.
How do I receive notifications?
- All notifications such as holds or final notices are sent to your university e-mail address.
- You can change your address at the ecUM terminals and at the Student Services office.
